Did you catch our 4 ways to create better outfits last week? We started with editing your closet, curating wardrobe basics, playing with proportions, and investing in tailoring.

But we didn’t want to stop there!

We want to make sure you feel empowered to transform your look and elevate your style, so, we’ve got 4 MORE tips!

1. Don't Be Afraid To Look Bad

If you want to dress differently or better, you'll need to take some kind of risks.

  • You'll have to risk hiring a stylist and it not working out (that won't happen with us, btw).

  • You'll have to risk throwing away jeans that used to fit but haven't for years.

  • You'll have to risk feeling awkward when you first wear something new.

Trying new things can be daunting and scary, but like all uncomfortable beginnings, it gets easy with time.

Start small:

  1. Add a pop of color with your accessories—a bold handbag, or a brighter pair of shoes.

  2. Experiment with your bottoms first. Why? Typically the further from our face the more "safe" risky fashion feels.

  3. Even if neutrals are your safe place, odds are you can add another neutral.

2. Accessorize with Purpose (Including Your Face!)

Accessories are like the finishing touch on a well-painted canvas—they complete the picture. A layer of necklaces, a chic belt, or even a great pair of sunglasses can instantly upgrade your outfit.

But here’s the thing: accessorizing isn’t just about adding bags or belt

“Dressing” isn’t just about your clothes—it’s about how you present yourself as a whole. A polished look means your outfit, accessories, and grooming are all working together to make you look (and feel) your best.

Think of it like this: you wouldn’t wear a great outfit having not showered, right? When your grooming is sharp, you’ll feel more put together and confident.

Pro tip: See a dermatologist. You don't need to use cosmetic procedures, but understanding your skin's needs for the best proper care will enhance your appearance significantly. Seriously.

3. Focus on Footwear

Often, when I'm in clients' closets, one of the biggest gaps/issues is shoes.

You could be wearing the most amazing ensemble, but if your shoes look shitty, the whole vibe can fall flat.

Personal styling clients often have shoes that are well beyond being worn out or they are extremely dated. This keeps you wearing the same handful of shoes, struggling to know what shoe to wear in different outfits, and feeling less stylish.

It's important to invest in high-quality shoes that not only look great but also feel good to wear, because no, you don't have to wear uncomfortable shoes.

Pro tip: Use a cobbler/shoe repair expert to revive worn-out favorites! Always make sure your shoes are clean and well-maintained. Scuffed heels or dirty sneakers can detract from even the most stylish outfit.

4. Building Personal Style Takes Time

Developing your style is about more than just following trends—it’s about figuring out what makes you feel amazing over time

That’s why one of my biggest tips is to find people who look like you and embody the style you want.

Whether it’s an influencer with your body type or a curated Pinterest board that nails the aesthetic you love, the key is finding inspiration that gives you positive direction.

And here’s something I can’t stress enough: don’t waste your time following people who make you feel bad about yourself!

If someone’s Instagram feed makes you feel like your style goals are unattainable, hit unfollow. You should be following people who inspire you to feel confident and empowered, not those who make you feel like you’ll never measure up.

So, most importantly, stay true to yourself.

Remember, fashion isn’t about perfection—it’s about expression and confidence.
